100,000 sign up to Blyk

April 24, 2016

Blyk, a free mobile network which targets the 16-24 age group has registered over 100,000 members since it was launched in the UK at the end of September 2015.

The company did not expect to achieve the 100,000 target until October, but at this rate of growth it could register 250,000 users by Christmas.

Blyk users receive 43 minutes of talk and 217 texts free each month as long as they agree to receive up to six targeted ads each day. There are no hidden charges.

The service has been shown to benefit its users and its advertisers, with Blyk campaigns generating average response rates of 29%.

Data from member profiles is used to target the ads, including information on lifestyle and personal interests.

The service is being rolled-out across Europe.
